It was an unexpected pleasure to receive a replacement "Eggplant" bible in top-notch condition! The replacement bible is also much better since the inside covers, and the first and last pages, now use a vinyl material rather than the construction paper in the original. Both the eggplant and brown "leather-like" bibles look much nicer overall than expected and have an attractive ribbon marker. They are a nice personal size bible with large enough print for older eyes, maybe 9 or 10 point font size. The pages are substantial enough, thin to maintain a lighter weight bible but slightly see-through. There are short reference notes at the end of each chapter and nice book introductions including the author, date, purpose, theme and book outline. The devotional subjects match up directly with the section of the bible they occupy.Quality
Would have given 5 stars, but was disappointed the eggplant bible arrived with a large white scratch gouged across the entire width of the gold pages. The bible arrived boxed and appeared to be new but if I had seen this in a store, I would not have purchased it in that condition. It is fortunate this was not sent as a gift. Hopefully, this was just an anomaly, as the brown bible arrived in good condition. (Posted on 2/8/2014)
